Improv is one of the most effective tools an actor can use to strengthen performance skills. This workshop focuses on active listening, emotional truth, spontaneity, and staying present in the moment. Actors will learn how improvisation can improve scene work, deepen character choices, enhance audition confidence, and create more authentic performances both on stage and screen. 

This class is limited to 12 participants.

Improv is one of the most effective tools we can use to build confidence, better learn to trust our instincts, develop collaboration skills, and find joy in the unknown. This workshop focuses on active listening, emotional truth, spontaneity, and staying present in the moment. Participants will learn how improvisation can improve their daily lives. NOTE: This workshop is for individuals with little or no experience performing on stage. 

This class is limited to 20 participants.

Mary Quinn is a professional actor, improviser, and educator whose performance journey began at Fort Lewis College. She discovered her passion for improv in the local comedy scene, performing with Durango Dot Comedy before relocating to Chicago to further develop her craft. While there, she trained at The Second City, iO Theater, and The Annoyance Theatre.

Mary is the owner of Lower Left Improv and has had the privilege of performing in Chicago, New York City, Seattle, and Tampa. She is the creator of the original one-woman show Felony Ever After and is also an active performer in the drag scene under her persona, Chad.

Her stage credits include Danny and the Deep Blue Sea with Durango Arts Center, Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties with Unsought Theatre, and Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche with Durango Arts Center. Her sketch work includes Catholic Guilt, Finding Their Roots, and Mind Your Manners.

Now based in Tampa, Mary is excited to continue performing, teaching, and creating new work.
