Don’t miss what critics are calling a “searing” and “funny” drama!

“This handsome world premiere delivers…” - The Denver Post

“Tonight I was thinking about how I've seen maybe 3,000 plays since I first started as the Denver Post theatre critic in 2001. And how I've never before seen a story quite like Local Theater Company's Paper Cut. Telling you that this new play by Andrew Rosendorf is the story of a soldier who has just returned from Afghanistan a changed man does not even begin to give justice to the complexity, sincerity and originality of the story. This is a play you really should see for yourself if you believe in the power of theatre to both surprise and engage you. Paper Cut, performed with a jarring honesty complemented by a desert storm of sound, light and video effects, is going to linger. If you think you've already seen pretty much every variation of the wounded warrior story, you are in for a surprise.  -John Moore, John Moore Theatre Coverage

Boulder Magazine calls Paper Cut a "Wow factor of 9!" and a "sweet & funny wartime romance.”

Westword Magazine says, "Local Theater Company should be applauded for its guts and timeliness."

“Paper Cut posits that the struggle for freedom of identity is universal, and hard, and so proves the existence of empathy.” - Boulder Weekly

Audiences say Paper Cut is a “Wow… in surprise, pathos, sympathy, and insight.”

“So good—Provocative, funny, and made me tear up.”  -Leah N.

"What an amazing representation of the struggles and sacrifice of our men and women serving in combat! A MUST see!" -Rex L.

A catalyst for creating greater understanding of our world today.

We believe that art in general, and theater specifically, is a catalyst for creating a greater understanding of the most challenging questions facing Americans today. Our programs are designed for audiences to explore culturally relevant stories, be stimulated and inspired to action, all while strengthening our creative community.

Embedded in our productions and programs is a fierce commitment to meeting a play where it is—and finding the people and resources it needs to tell stories that stay with our audiences long after the show ends.
